Low-profile systems designed specifically for existing homes.
Retrofitting UFH into an existing property requires a different approach to new build. Floor height is almost always the key constraint – and the system needs to work within whatever headroom is available without compromising door clearances, floor levels or adjoining finishes.
Our retrofit range has been specifically selected to address this. Every system below offers a low build-up profile, excellent heat output, and compatibility with a wide range of floor coverings and heat sources. The right choice depends on your specific floor construction, available height, heat source and floor finishes – all of which we assess as part of your free project consultation.

RetroTherm® MAXOur most versatile retrofit system.
RetroTherm® MAX is the go-to choice for the majority of renovation projects. Its low build-up height, compatibility with all floor coverings – including direct tile application – and straightforward installation make it suitable for almost any existing property, whether the sub-floor is concrete or timber boarding.
How it works: RetroTherm® MAX uses an 18mm high-density dry screed panel as the heat-conducting surface. UFH pipe sits within the panel’s pre-formed grooves, and the panel transfers heat evenly to the floor surface above. Tiles and stone can be applied directly to the board, making it particularly well suited to kitchens, bathrooms and hallways.
Key features:
Best for: Most retrofit and renovation projects, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms and open-plan living areas with tiled or stone finishes.
RetroTherm® FLOWhere higher heat output or heat pump compatibility is a priority.
RetroTherm® FLO offers a step up in thermal performance compared to other low-profile dry-install systems, making it the preferred choice where higher heat outputs are needed – or where the system will be paired with a renewable heat source.
How it works: Using a 12mm pipe within a multi-directional panel, RetroTherm® FLO achieves a build-up of under 20mm while delivering greater heat output than comparable dry systems. The multi-directional panel design suits any pipe layout, making it well suited to irregular room shapes and more complex floor plans.
Key features:
Best for: Renovation projects requiring higher heat outputs, properties with heat pumps, or rooms with complex layouts.
RetroTherm® LITEThe most compact solution for height-critical retrofits.
Where floor height is the overriding constraint – and where losing even a few extra millimetres is simply not an option – RetroTherm® LITE provides the most space-efficient solution in our retrofit range.
How it works: RetroTherm® LITE uses 20mm ultra-strong, lightweight XPS panels. Despite their minimal profile, the panels are robust enough to accept a wide range of floor coverings and offer solid thermal performance for their build-up height.
Key features:
Best for: Most retBest for: Properties where every millimetre of floor height matters – for example where door clearances are tight or adjoining floor levels must be carefully matched.rofit and renovation projects, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms and open-plan living areas with tiled or stone finishes.
